Welcome to the Huddle
The Huddle unit is made up of two small classes of 12, who work on a curriculum appropriate for our stage of learning rather than our year group age. These classes are called Rockhoppers and Emperors. We work individually and in groups on our personal goals.
Our Huddle base is a communication friendly environment which has visuals, symbols, signs and communication boards readily available for us to use to make our wants and needs known.
Our topics are story based and sensory led. We love to explore topics using all of our senses. Alongside this we work on life skills both inside and outside of school in order for us to become as independent as possible. We particularly enjoy our weekly trips out to local parks and playgrounds as well as offering events such as swimming and forest school!
We are an enthusiastic group who like to make the most of all opportunities offered to us. Learning in a smaller group with a high adult ratio enables our needs to be met and as a result we can achieve to our full potential.
