Tuesday 7th February 2017 is Safer Internet Day. Safer Internet Day is coordinated by the Insafe network and is celebrated every year across Europe, and in other countries worldwide.
In the UK, Safer Internet Day is organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre (www.saferinternetday.org.uk), and this year’s theme is “Be the change: Unite for a better internet.”
RLK is participating alongside hundreds of other schools across the UK and pupils will be learning about how to use the internet safely and positively.
We believe that e-safety education is a crucial element of the curriculum and an essential part of young people’s development.
Our aim is to work alongside and support parents and to help you and your child celebrate the many positives of the internet, also raising awareness of the issues that children and young people face online today.
In addition to the Digital Parenting magazine we sent home to each family last term please find attached a list of useful resources and websites and some suggested conversation starters you may wish to have with your child.
Any queries or questions please contact myself, Mrs Smith or your child’s class teacher.
